Since 1979, Larry's career includes his days with newspapers, to his current position as a renowned wedding photojournalist. Larry has amassed a highly decorated portfolio that is unique in nature. His thorough knowledge of the industry has given him an eye for details with an artist's touch. Larry's photographs have been published throughout the world, courtesy of the Associated Press and United Press International. He recently won two coveted awards for his black and white photography - the Fugi Masterpiece Award and the Kodak Gallery Award. In l997, Larry won the prestigious Professional Photographer of the Year award from the Professional Photographers of Louisiana. He has also won numerous Associated Press photography awards in spot news, features, sports and photo pages while photographing for newspapers. Lt. Governor Kathleen Blanco recognized Larry as the grand prize winner in the 1998 State Office of Tourism's Louisiana Travel Photo Contest. Larry is a Master of Photography and a Certified Professional Photographer. Master and Certified by the Professional Photographers of America. He has a Bachelor of Science in Photojournalism from the University of Kansas, and is a member of Professional Photographers of America, American Society of Photographers, Southwestern Photographers Association, Professional Photographers of Louisiana and Children Photographers International. Larry has studied under Pulitizer Prize-winning photographers, as well as some of the best wedding and portrait photographers in the world. Larry has participated in extensive workshops, including those sponsored by the University of Missouri, the Texas School of Professional Photography, Professional Photographers of America, acclaimed wedding photographers David Ziser and Denis Reggie. The notable subjects of Larry's photojournalism efforts run the gamut from influential political figures to panoramic landscapes; from hurricanes and tornados to burning buildings and airplane crashes; from country music and gospel singers to sporting events; from newborn babies and children to brides on their special day.
